Eggcellent TPE donations spread Easter joy to Greater Manchester families
Generous staff at TransPennine Express (TPE) have helped families supported by a Greater Manchester charity this Easter by donating more than 100 chocolate eggs.
Mustard Tree operates across Greater Manchester, providing food, clothing furniture and training for people in need.
A total of 130 eggs were collected by the train operator’s service delivery team, which is responsible for running TPE's day to day operations, to help those in need of some joy this Easter.
Nicola Buckley, People Director at TransPennine Express, said: “Well done to our colleagues who have donated a huge number of eggs to Mustard Tree this year. We are delighted to be able to support the charity and to give something back to the communities we serve and are part of.”
Easter – usually a time of celebration and giving, can also mean incredible pressure for many parents and families in Greater Manchester, who look at Easter eggs as a luxury they simply can’t afford.
Each year, Mustard Tree asks for donations so families on low-income have the chance to give a memorable experience to their children.
Harry Dwan, Fundraising Manager for Mustard Tree, said: "An amazing Easter egg collection, thank you very much. These donations will really help spread love, dignity, and a bit of normality to families we support."
