Greater Manchester pupils on track to shape future of rail new TPE school partnership
TransPennine Express (TPE) is set to give young people an insight into what a career in rail looks like after launching a partnership with a school in Greater Manchester.
Small groups of students from Oasis Academy:MediaCityUK in Salford will take part in half‑day workplace visits, meeting colleagues, seeing operations up close, and discovering the wide range of roles across customer service.
The partnership will also offer students week‑long work placements, offering students a deeper, hands‑on experience.
This initiative aims to broaden students’ horizons, build confidence, and highlight the rewarding career pathways available within the rail industry.
Nicola Buckley, People Director at TransPennine Express, said: “We’re passionate about opening doors for young people and showing them the fantastic career opportunities within rail. This partnership strengthens our commitment to the communities we serve and helps inspire the next generation.”
“TPE plays a vital role across the North, and we’re excited to welcome students who may one day help shape the future of the rail industry.”
