Paddy McGuinness and Vernon Kay talk Phoenix Nights, Manchester in the 90s, and reveal the origins of Peter Kay’s famous ‘garlic bread’ joke in a short video filmed whilst travelling with us. 

The two funny men feature on ‘Comedy Connections which is available exclusively via our on-board Exstream service and ourwebsite.

In the clip, Paddy details his visits to Affleck’s Palace in the 90s, his interesting dress sense and how Peter Kay’s famous ‘garlic bread’ joke actually started as ‘baked beans’.

“Our customers can now be kept company by the likes of Cillian Murphy, Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen as they head towards their Northern and Scottish destinations, or can get lost in a host of magazines and podcasts. The free service is there for all to enjoy.”

The service now also features a live real-time journey tracker, so customers can access arrival times, onward connections, platform information and bus connections, making journey planning stress free. 

Also available on Exstream are a series of podcasts on loneliness, with each podcast exploring a different theme. We recently partnered with the Campaign to End Loneliness and including these podcasts on Exstream helps support the vision to raise awareness of the issue of loneliness.

To access Exstream, customers need to download the TPE app via the app store, allowing them to seamlessly connect to Wi-Fi when joining us on their next journey.
