Rail passengers travelling to and from Lincolnshire can now save nearly £50 with new advance train tickets

The new advance purchase and connections ticket lets customers travel seamlessly between Lincolnshire and major cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Edinburgh, and Glasgow – all on a single, great-value ticket valid across both train operators. The offer also applies to and from Preston and Carlisle. 

Lincolnshire stations included in the new fares are Barton-On-Humber, Barrow Haven, New Holland, Goxhill, Thornton Abbey, and Ulceby. 

With the new ticket option, the price of a journey to or from Barton-on-Humber to Liverpool fall from £69.90 to just £21.60 - an incredible saving of £48.30 when compared to Off Peak or Anytime fares.  

Similar savings are available on trips to and from Manchester Airport which drop from £66.20 to £22.20, saving £44.00. 

Darren Higgins, Commercial Director at TransPennine Express, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to offer these fares to our customers, this not only simplifies journeys but also offers huge cost savings, as the ticket can be purchased in advance. 

First and Standard Class tickets are available to buy 12 weeks ahead of travel up until 15 minutes before departure, with the biggest discounts available the further in advance you buy.
