TransPennine Express launches flash group ticket sale with bigger savings
TransPennine Express (TPE) is offering groups an even bigger saving this summer with a limited-time increase to its group booking discount.
Customers travelling in groups of 10 or more can now enjoy 25 per cent off Advance Purchase tickets as part of a special flash sale, up from the usual 20 per cent discount - perfect for school groups, business travellers and large groups travelling for leisure.
The promotion runs from Monday 22 June to Monday 6 July 2026, with discounted travel available across TPE’s network until 30th October 2026.
The offer is available on selected services, including routes between Liverpool and Newcastle, Liverpool and Hull, Manchester Piccadilly and Cleethorpes, and Manchester Airport and Redcar Central.
The increased discount can offer significant savings compared with standard fares, particularly when compared to Anytime tickets. For example, a group of 15 travelling from Liverpool to York could save up to £69 when using the discounted Advance fare instead of purchasing Anytime tickets.
Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TransPennine Express, said: “We’re pleased to be offering even greater value for groups with this limited-time sale, making it easier and more affordable for people to travel together.
“Our network connects towns and cities right across the North and into Scotland, and we want to encourage more people – including larger groups – to choose rail as a convenient and more sustainable way to travel.”
Groups must travel together on the same service to qualify for the discounted tickets.
Customers can book their travel quickly and easily by completing the online group booking form at: www.tpexpress.co.uk/groups, where full terms and conditions can also be found.
