Customers strongly urged not to travel today due to disruption caused by Storm Arwen

Customers planning to travel by train on the following routes are urged not to travel:

West Coast Mainline – this is the route between Manchester and Edinburgh / Glasgow via Preston

• East Coast Mainline – this is the route between York, Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Edinburgh
• The Pennines – this is the route between Liverpool, Manchester, Huddersfield, Leeds, York, Middlesbrough and Scarborough

Customers planning to use the train to travel to events, such as the Huddersfield Vs Middlesbrough football match today should not travel by train.

Customers can defer their journeys, and any tickets already purchased for travel this weekend will be valid on our services up to and including Monday 29 November or a full refund can be obtained at tpexpress.co.uk/help/refunds and there will be no admin fee for this.

Kathryn O’Brien Customer Experience Director for TransPennine Express said: “Due to the impact of Storm Arwen, train services are disrupted on many parts of our network including the West Coast Mainline, East Coast Mainline and across the Pennines.

“The safety of our customers and staff is our priority and we are warning customers not to travel on these routes today.

“Anyone planning on travelling by train today can choose to defer their travel or claim a refund and we are working closely with Network Rail to get services running again as soon as we can.”
