Fresh Bites and First Class Delights: TPE’s New summer menu arrives onboard
TransPennine Express (TPE) is serving up a taste of summer with the launch of its new seasonal First Class menus, bringing bold flavours, comforting favourites and lighter bites to customers travelling across the North and Scotland.
The refreshed TransPennine Kitchen Coast to Coast and West Coast menus, launching this week, showcase a vibrant mix of seasonal dishes designed to be enjoyed while watching the scenery roll by.
Top of the menu is a Mexican smoky chipotle and black bean burrito bowl, inspired by street‑food classics and packed with rich, warming flavour - a colourful and satisfying addition to the summer line‑up.
The West Coast menu (available on services connecting Manchester and Liverpool with Glasgow and Edinburgh) features a prosciutto and Scottish goat’s cheese pizza, finished with a tangy balsamic glaze for a fresh, flavour‑packed option.
Also on offer is a comforting duo of pies from Carlisle-based Pie Demand. The pairing of a rich pork and caramelised onion pie with a creamy cheese and chive pie delivers the perfect balance of savoury favourites in one dish.
On the Coast to Coast menu (served between Liverpool and Newcastle), customers can enjoy a hearty chicken and Yorkshire chorizo jambalaya as well as a flaky Yorkshire Pasty.
Hot food is now available on the train operator’s Express Plus menu, available between Newcastle and Edinburgh including bacon rolls, crumpets, teacakes and ham and cheese toasties.
Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director at TransPennine Express, said: “We’re proud to work with local suppliers across our network to bring high‑quality, great‑tasting food onboard. This new menu celebrates the communities we serve, combining fresh ingredients, regional partners and dishes that make our First Class experience even more enjoyable across the North and Scotland.”
