Late night services for Manchester gig goers returning to Liverpool

TransPennine Express (TPE) will run extra late-night trains for customers travelling home from concerts at the Co-op Live arena in Manchester this week.

The train operator will run two additional direct services between Manchester Piccadilly and Liverpool Lime Street.

The first will depart in the early hours of Wednesday morning at 1.02am after songbird Stevie Nicks plays on Tuesday 9 July – allowing music fans to return home after the concert.

The second will depart at the same time after Kings of Leon rock the arena on Wednesday 10 July in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Kathryn O’Brien, Customer Experience & Transformation Director at TransPennine Express, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer these extra services to get fans home after enjoying the concert.

“Services may be busy, so we’re asking our customers to plan their journey carefully and check before they travel.”

Fans who haven’t yet purchased their rail tickets to travel to the concert can do so via TPE’s website: tpexpress.co.uk
