Stalybridge station springs to life with pupils’ Easter artwork
Customers passing through TransPennine Express’ (TPE) Stalybridge station are being treated to a burst of Easter cheer, thanks to the creative efforts of young pupils from a nearby school.
28 young artists from Years 3 to 6 at Trinity Christian School have used their artistic talents to combine the themes of trains and Easter, producing a range of colourful and uplifting artwork now proudly displayed at the station.
The pupils presented their creations on Thursday 3 April, bringing smiles to customers’ faces in the build-up to the Easter celebrations.
The vibrant artwork captures the spirit of Easter, with each artwork telling its own story of hope and love.
The project not only gave pupils the opportunity to showcase their artistic skills but also allowed them to learn more about the local railway and how stations play a vital role in connecting communities.
As a thank you for their hard work and creativity, each pupil was presented with an Easter egg.
Andrew Watkins, Community & Development Manager at TPE, said: “We are delighted to showcase the fantastic artwork created by pupils from Trinity Christian School at Stalybridge station.
“It’s wonderful to see how they’ve creatively combined Easter themes with our railway heritage. The display adds a welcoming and uplifting touch to the station, brightening the journey for our customers.”
Alison Purnell, Primary Art Teacher at Trinity Christian School, said: “Year 3-6 pupils created vibrant artwork that combined the themes of trains and Easter, using a variety of mixed media techniques.
“From mono-printing to free-hand designs, their pieces beautifully conveyed the Easter message of hope and love, capturing the spirit of renewal and connection through creative expression.”
The artwork will remain on display throughout the Easter holidays, offering customers an opportunity to enjoy the vibrant designs as they travel through Stalybridge.
