Yorkshire Day 2025 with TPE and LNER-11

TPE and LNER celebrate Yorkshire Day with local flavours and customer giveaways

Passengers travelling through York railway station were treated to a true taste of Yorkshire as TransPennine Express (TPE) and LNER (London North Eastern Railway) joined forces to mark Yorkshire Day on Friday 1 August 2025.

The two train operators surprised and delighted passengers as they handed out free samples and goodie bags packed with Yorkshire-made products, shining a spotlight on local producers.

TPE offered free samples of products from its onboard catering service, including ready-to-drink Gin & Tonic and Vodka, Lime & Lemonade cans from Masons of Yorkshire, crafted in partnership with Franklin & Sons.

Passengers also had the chance to try Northern Monk’s exclusive TransPennine Pale Ale, brewed specially for TPE’s First Class menu, which reflect the routes and communities the operator serves.

Also featured were Wildfarmed sandwiches from Bradford-based Tiffin Sandwiches and The Original Baker’s hog roast sausage rolls, handmade in Malton using locally sourced ingredients.

LNER gifted customers with a range of local products both from its First Class and Café Bar menus, including Lottie Shaws shortbread biscuits, Yorkshire Tea, Libations Rum, Cold Bath Brewing Co Lager and Rudgate Brewery Hop on Board ale, and the Fruity Kitchen.

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director for TransPennine Express, said: “Yorkshire Day is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate everything that makes this region special – including its incredible food and drink.
