TPE offers free travel for customers returning home following Air Traffic Control technical issues

TransPennine Express (TPE) is allowing customers returning home from holiday following Air Traffic Control issues to travel until Thursday 31 August at no charge.

The move comes in response to the plight of holidaymakers returning later than planned after many flights back to the UK were delayed or cancelled.

Darren Higgins, Commercial Director for TPE, said: “We recognise how difficult this experience has been for many people and hope this decision will provide much-needed relief to those who have been impacted by the technical problems.”

People who have been affected by the Air Traffic Control issues and are arriving back to the UK on an alternative date, time or at a different airport, will be able to travel on TPE Standard Class at no charge.

Customers should present their airline ticket, boarding pass, or email confirmation as proof of returning during the disruption.

This offer will run until Thursday 31 August.
