TransPennine Express urges customers to check before they travel ahead of Storm Otto
With severe weather and very strong winds expected across Scotland and north east England tomorrow (Friday 17 February 2023), TransPennine Express (TPE) is urging customers to plan carefully and check before they travel.
Storm Otto is likely to cause disruption to services in the north east England and into Scotland, with speed restrictions in place from the early hours of tomorrow morning.
Trains will run at reduced speeds between Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Edinburgh and anyone planning on travelling on this route should check before they travel and allow extra time.
Customers can check their services via the TPE website: www.tpexpress.co.uk/travel-updates or at www.nationalrail.co.uk
Anyone that experiences a delay may be entitled to compensation with more information available at: www.tpexpress.co.uk/help/delay-repay-compensation.
Paul Staples, Fleet Director for TransPennine Express said: “Our number one priority is to keep our customers and colleagues safe, and we will be doing all we can to keep people moving in difficult conditions.
“We are urging anyone travelling across the affected routes to plan ahead and follow the guidance provided.”
Customers with questions about their journey can tweet the train company at @TPEAssist or WhatsApp on 07812 223 336 and will usually receive a response within 10 minutes. Alternatively, please contact the TPE Customer Relations team: www.tpexpress.co.uk/help/contact-us.
