TPE shares quick-reference guides to last trains home from stations across its network for Christmas partygoers
TransPennine Express (TPE) is encouraging customers attending Christmas parties across the North of England and Scotland to share quick-reference guides to ‘last trains home’ with their fellow partygoers.
The train operator has produced handy timetables that highlight its last direct services from major stations across its network such as Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, York and Hull as well as Edinburgh and Glasgow.
There will be no trains on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, and services will finish earlier on Tuesday 24 December and start later on Friday 27 December.

Andrew McClements, Customer Experience and Transformation Director, at TPE said: “It’s so easy to lose track of time when you’re out enjoying yourself over the festive period so we’ve created these guides so our customers know when their last train home will be.
“Services will also be much busier than usual as everyone is out enjoying Christmas parties and markets, so we strongly urge everyone to plan ahead, check their journey very carefully and allow extra time to travel.
“Please also remember to treat our traincrew and station staff with the respect they deserve.
“We know that the majority of people do just that, but if anyone does witness any unacceptable behaviour directed towards railway staff, I would urge them to contact British Transport Police.”
Anyone who witnesses a crime on the railway should contact British Transport Police immediately by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40.
TPE is also reminding customers that timetables across the rail network changed on Sunday 15 December.
Andrew added: “We are recommending customers check before they travel in case there are any changes to their services.”
For more information about individual services, customers should use the ‘Check My Timetable’ feature on TPE’s website or visit https://tpexpress.co.uk/timetablechange
TPE is also spreading festive cheer across its network with the unwrapping of a special Christmas train, designed to raise awareness and support for Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal.
The eye-catching train aims to inspire customers to get involved with the campaign, which supports disadvantaged children across the UK who may otherwise go without gifts this holiday season and will run across the train operator’s network until early next year.
The design appears on one of TPE’s Class 185 trains and features vibrant seasonal imagery, with Santa being guided by his reindeers.
